If by 'harsh winter' you mean Virginia Beach winter then yes. Otherwise, you'll freeze your stylish toes off.

Virginia Beach is about to get slammed with some arctic weather, weather the area is definitely not accustomed to .


I wear Red Wings in my walk-in freezer(-15F) and they suck.

I know, 9" of snow...its gonna be epic! I love watching the girls trying to walk on ice in flip flops.

I never get why people really recommend unlined boots for "winter boots"

they really aren't gonna be any warmer than other leather boot, not significantly anyways

Indy Boots or unlined RW's or Katahdin boots or C&J Chelseas...basically the same warmth

waterproof is another thing of course

i wear my GTs whenever the weather is awful outside and granted it's been relatively mild for michigan, still dips down to 0 F and i haven't had any complaints, i just put on thick socks. got these so i could be presentable in winter snowstorms, so they aren't daily footwear but i still like them a lot.
