Hi,

I'm looking for a 'driving' shoe, similar in price to the Loake Estoril, at about $85. While Tod's makes attractive shoes, their prices are way out of my budget. Any recommendations?

Regards,

All the dept. stores carry a house brand. Lord and Taylor has a brand, TBNY which retail at about $60 and they often run 20% off coupons. They come in cognac and black. Bloomingdale's has a brand called Metropolitan View which are on sale now for $99. They come in camel, black and dark brown. These shoes are a staple at most of the dept stores and you shouldn't have a problem finding them in your price range.

I recently invested in a pair of brown driving shoes from Donald Pliner, which cost me $80 at Saks (on sale). I like these because the rubber extends to the front toe area, which wears quickly and easily on driving mocs.
