Why is the price so much higher in CA? The exchange rate is pretty much at par, right?

Is the "MONTECATINI - Sport Luggage" on this link,

http://www.leathershop.it/asp/shop/a...id=66&pagina=3

...exactly the same as the "MILANO DUFFLE" at this link:

http://www.flotoimports.com/MilDuffleBlack-luggage.html...?

What are the vertical strips going down the bag for? I don't like how those look, and I don't like how the buckles look that are in them either. The vertical strips and buckles look kind of feminine to me.

Is there a good place to buy a quality bag for $300 that looks like those, in black, only without those "vertical strip" things?

The same reason we pay so much for cell, clothes, shoes, etc. Because we bend over and take it in the.....

A weak electorate. Data plans being the worst example.

They sure look similar, don't they. I suspect that the same shop or factory in Tuscany supplies both companies.

The vertical strips of leather are to reinforce the attachment of the handles via the buckles so that they can't rip out. To my eye, they actually make the bag look stronger and hence more masculine.

Here's a similar one from Floto without the long leather strips:

If you're looking for a vintage bag, I suggest you PM Connemara. He knows stylish bags.

What is the technical difference about how the Montblanc vertical strips are constructed here, and how those ones above ("MONTECATINI - Sport Luggage" and MILANO DUFFLE") do it?

http://www.montblanc-us.com/products/117.php

The Montblanc ones look a lot more classy and less flamboyant & feminine, don't they?

Are there other sources that are constructed exactly the same way as that Montblanc bag is, but won't cost me $1160 like the Montblanc one does?

Are there any tricks to get the Montblanc one for like half price or something? Every single site I could find that sells that Montblanc one doesn't list the price for it on their site, I guess they are ordered by Montblanc not to?

Jeez, stylemeup, I don't know where you're coming from with this. To my eye, the more delicate leather strips on the Montblanc look, if anything, more "feminine" than the more robust-looking reinforcers on the other two bags. But I guess "feminine," as with "beauty," is in the eye of the beholder.

Well thanks for the insights Roger but what about the answers to my other questions though?

Can I get something more close to the Montblanc one for cheaper than the Montblanc price, do they exist?

If they do exist then I need links to them. If they don't exist then I'll need to know so I stop wasting my time trying to search for something that doesn't exist.

^^Sorry, can't help with the Montblanc bags. I'm sure others would know, though. Good luck in your search.
