That's a pretty sad way of viewing these forums and clothing

Consumption is simply the means by which one creates a lifestyle in postindustrial society. With few exceptions, any sort of interest has been commercialized to the extent that consumerism is an inexorable aspect of any discussion regarding interests-as-lifestyle. And, due to issues of scarcity, nicer things are always going to cost more money.

(this makes even more sense when you think about what sort of lifestyles require less discussion of consumption and how the consumption direction regarding those lifestyles are less dependent upon scarce resources)

I really suggest you live here before making any assumptions on my level of understanding of my environment.

What about blowing their noses in the street, train, bus? I mean just putting a finger to one nostril and blowing the mucus out of the other to wherever it lands. Russians do that all over the place. This time of year the pavements are like walking through slime. They do spit as well, but not indoors.

I think this kind of thing is down to recent urbanization. I remember seeing a london bus sign from sometime around 1900 in a museum on which one of the rules of riding the bus was no spitting.
