The problem is that the people who shouldn't wear one (short skinny people) wear them. If you're a big guy with a boxy frame who is also a business man, sure, rock your burberry trench. If you're some twinky student wearing a trench on campus you're going to look like a try-hard. Just because something is "most eponymous of fashion" doesn't mean it's fashionable for everyone

None of the burberry models are 'big guys with boxy frames' and they look fantastic. In fact most of them look like teenage boys on campus. It's not about who you are it's about how you wear it, as someone mentioned already in this thread, it might need mentioning that if you wear something out of character (not suiting everything else you wear) it won't look right regardless of who you are, it has to be consistent with the rest of your outfit.

I think Ann Demeulemeester proves very well that vests can be awesome worn casually (too busy at work to find pix, yet not busy enough to not reply, irony :p).

Full-length trenches are tough to pull off, but I see absolutely nothing wrong with the cropped variety.

Yeah trenches with full length but don't have them too long.

^ First she can't act, then she can't model so as to appear to have arms or hands.

Even this latest idea to handle SP threads will fail. The people that start them don't hang around, they come, post and leave. They don't last long enough to learn to post in the proper place.

It's just a part of Forum life.
