Hi all,

New to the forums, but heres a question that is bugging me that i need answering !

I've never owned any of the classic RL Polo shirts before, being somewhat put off by the horse logo and its associated imagery (preppy, posh, etc), but with summer coming up and feeling the need to get a bunch of nice looking casual polos, I decided I was ready to wear the horse.

I headed to a local Macys on a lunch break and see they have a sale on RL Polos, all sorts of colors, $49.99 each...I pick up a couple in different blues and continue looking round. At the actual RL stand, they have a bunch more, no sale sign showing, but I pick a nice black and a brown one up...I go to pay, expecting my total to be $200 + tax, but its closer to $270 by the end....I look and see that the black and brown ones I picked up are full priced, not on sale...well, whatever, bit pricey, but I pay up...

So heres where the question really begins (sorry for the long pre amble!)....

When I get them home, I notice some differences. The 2 I paid full price for are made in the Phillipines and have the horse logo starting below the bottom of the button section ie: the top of the Polo stick starts in a line with the bottom of the button hem. The 2 I got on sale are made in Sri Lanka and have the horse logo above the button hem, ie: the horses feet are in line with the bottom of the button hem.

Looking on line, everything I find (which isnt much) states that genuine Polos have the horse logo below the button line...so whats going on ??

I doubt Macys are selling fake Polos, so have RL moved the logo for this season and the full prices ones were left from last season ?

I guess I shouldnt really care, but I dont want to be perceived as wearing "fake" RL..shallow I know...any clues guys ?

could you post a picture of both of your polo, one from made in the phillipines, one made in sri lanka.

I don't think Macy will sell fake polo.

I think the horse logo is supposed to be in the middle of the shirt, right near your belly button.

for a gentlemens shirt the logo should be on the label, not the surface of the garment.

Hey, thanks for the replies...

Im sure they are all genuine, it just seems odd, re the positioning....I like things consistant...its like buying some pairs of 501's and finding the red tab is moving up and down the pocket on different pairs...

Dont really get the horse logo near the belly button joke, but Im sure its funny ?

Yeah, generally I try and avoid logos, but this summer I just felt like riding the horse...
