Raining Cats & Dogs this morning in NYC, what to wear in the wet?

Hi all, it poured crazy this morning and as always got soaked so that the trouser crease was gone, the shoes squishy and in general not feeling as crisp as I would like on a business Monday morning. When this happens, I think about preparing for the next time, so I can get through the day somewhat fresher. It's a lot easier to deal with the weather when a raincoat or overcoat can be worn, but I haven't figured out summer rains. I keep a pair of Grenson beaters with topy's, trousers that look OK when uncreashed, but short of bringinmg a chnage of clothing, I'm out of ideas.

What do you do?

It was hardly raining this morning. But I was carrying an umbrella, had a lightweight nylon Miu Miu trench, black Prada suit and black Ferragamos which got me to work just fine.

I wore my Tingley loafer-style overshoes this morning, but no raincoat. For heavy downpours, I prefer boot-style overshoes into which I tuck my pant hems.

I wore my trench - I had it made without a liner specifically because of the necessity of using one during summer downpours. When combined with an umbrella and toppied shoes, I'm all set for rain.

odoreater looks down at his trousers and notices they are still creased. Why would rain get rid of the crease in your trousers?

This does happen when it rains and it irritates me. I think it is the humidity or something.

I have deer leather, gum sole oxford shoes a mac ( or a trench if the rain is heavy ) and a rain hat ( or an umbrella again if it's heavy )...

No problems with rain.
