In Thailand now, just back from tailor.

They generally only have wool, and for some bizarre reason everything is not measured in oz. Instead just superfine numbers. I've been trying to get a half lined jacket.

A few have been.willing to do a half lined suit but they all say it won't fall very well as the wool material used requires lining. The only suggested option is to go for a heavier material? THOUGHTS?

Also lining is all viscose + silk which might be a bit hot? ?

Colour,
The suit is for work, so must be sombre was thinking a reasonably dark blue?

Thanks outside the shop now and would like to measure asap! So advice appreciated

They don't want to do unlined because it takes more work/skill on their part.

How heavy is the wool?

Is it summer wool? Or the stuff for winter?

Your tailor is nuts - light weight/tropical wool is fine with only a half lining. All my summer suits, and most of my winter ones, only have a half lining. The previous poster is probably correct - the tailor doesn't want to do the extra work involved in finishing all the internal seams.

THANKS A FEW MORE QUESTIONS PLEASE

All wool is super 110 to 150 no idea on weight but feels relatively light.

So half lined won't result in a ill fit?? Even if fabric is light?

Thanks so much. Internet is costing a fortune!

IIRC, a higher count Super number means the fabric is more delicate and prone to wrinkling.

I'd keep with the 110, half-lined if you want a decent summer suit. No need to so with the super high numbers, which are more marketing that anything else, imo.

Many of my Brooks suits are half lined, and I've had no problems with wrinkling.

FINAL CHECK

The super 110 is the lightest material. With this in mind, should I still go for it or should I go for a heavier material half lined.
