Questions about collar stays and starch

Hello, I am about to order a bunch of shirts from mytailor.com

They offer you permanent or removable collar stays.

I am always going to wear these shirts with a tie so should I get the permanent or removable?

Also is starch a substitute for collar stays? If so which is better? Is starch bad for your shirts?

Thanks
John

Starch is not a substitute for collar stays. I would get removable stays as well.

Ok, thanks.

I'm thinking I'm going to get the removable ones.

Maybe because if the permanent stays get worn out you can never replace them.

I feel the same way about starch. I don't like the feeling that I have all this glucose in my shirts.

Do you know that if you wash the shirt without starch will it remove all the starch?

Also the shirts I'm buying are all 100% cotton broadcloth.

Do you think this fabric will last and look good with a suit?

Thanks
John
