Hello forum members!

My name is Chris and I am new to the forum. Not sure if this the correct place to post this, so if not, sorry in advance.

I'm looking for a private label shoemaker as the title states. If any of you have any information or know/are a shoemaker I would love to speak with you.

I am currently working with a shoemaker in Italy, but he doesn't speak english very well and it is very hard to communicate with him. So I would like to find a shoemaker I can speak with and go into detail of what I am looking for. If anyone has any information I would greatly appreciate it!

That's hard, without knowing what kind of construction, quality level, and volume you are thinking of. I think a lot of the private-label makers of stitched or welted shoes are in Italy, so it might be a good idea to brush up on your Italian. If you're talking big enough orders, I think Borgioli might work with you. Check out jcusey's RTW shoemakers thread on the subject.

You're in NOLA? If we're talking small volumes of high quality, and it doesn't absolutely have to be private label, these folks in Leon, Guanajuato (the capital of Mexican shoemaking) do nice hand-welted shoes at quite reasonable prices, especially with the peso so weak against the dollar; and I heard they're looking for business. The owner speaks and writes good English. I don't know whether they'd be flexible on the private label bit.

Thank you for the response! I think Rosetta Stone may be my new friend! haha

Yes, I am in NOLA. It will defiantly smaller volumes at the moment. I own MTM clothing company and looking to expand into shoes as well. Thank you for responding, I greatly appreciate it!
