It's like you said, the Nudie stitching is a personal preference; I personally find it ugly and therefore only wear denim without backpocket stitching (Volcom, Earnest Sewn, and Uniqlo so far...). With this taste in mind, it's very hard to tell the rear is cut the way it is unless you get close and pay attention, but you can spot the stitching from a mile away. Just differing taste, I guess.

And I gotta agree with Musselma; at least he's getting started into the raw aspect of denim, even if he started out with a poor cut. If I had let the initial flack and discouragement get to me, I may have never learned and improved.

Back pocket stitching can be loud, but I have to go on a brand by brand or style by style basis to make that judgement. Also, I own some Nudies and the stitching has not been a detraction at all to me. Other brands, such as Evisu, are too gaudy and the worst case scenario, True Religions, are downright fugly.

And yes, those Volcoms are a pile of stinking turd. But, it's Volcom. Everything they make is such.

Why don't you tell us how you really feel?

Funny thing I read is that Volcom actually uses good denim in their jeans; I've heard their DIY raws are comparable to Nudie's fabric, and the Revolver selvedge's are made from cone mills white oaks selvage denim.

What I'd REALLY like, though, is to come across a set of Slim Jim's on the low-low and just pull stitching to my liking.....

I saw some at Nieman Marcus a few weeks ago. $110.00, they did have the raw version, but I can offer no speculation whatsoever on sizing other than I think I saw some 31, 32, and 33's. 10 pairs or so, altogether.

regarding nudie pocket stitching, it is ugly and I encourage removal of both the stitching and the pleather patch from any of their jeans.

For me, living in new york everytime I see someone with nudies it's usually one of 2 people, broke hiphopper who copped his pair at century 21 after his cooler buddies got them at a higher end retailer when the trend was just starting, or the type of person who shops at fcuk and A|X with 4 year old converses but brand spanking new raw nudies.

That said i am still trying to get a nudie conny jacket, I will just remove the stitching...

No, they sell Nudie Slim Jims. Both in raw and in some the washes as well, so be careful. I might even vaguely remember a black pair or two, but it's been two or three weeks.

We need to have an ATL meetup sometime. We could probably get 5 or 6 people for sure.
