Correct, it will eventually wear out. But the jeans will have kick-ass wear marks.

Nice fit on the top of those Flatheads, they don't look too tight to me.
IMO, Don't soak until you absolutely have to.
i would strongly recommend an initial soak for these jeans. it is inevitable that he will have to wash these eventually at which point the flat heat denim will shrink significantly. why not just buy the right size and shrink to fit via initial soak? dont think this is a jean you want to size down on.
