I have both a business card and a personal card. The personal calling card is classic script type, printed in black on slightly off-white paper. It has my phone, address and email. I use it mostly for reference when traveling, making purchases, etc. As in, "just send it to the address on my card..." It is also nice to give someone that you meet in a non-business setting to stay in touch.

You have your home address on the personal card?

No. There are few situations where I could imagine using one with a straight face

Yes. Phone, cell, email and address. It comes in quite handy and I never have to discuss my work or give my work contact information. It allows me to be an international man of mystery. Or a local guy, just depends upon how I play it.

I've been thinking of getting some made with just my name on them and then I can write the details I want to give on the opposite side. Interested to hear what others think about the personal card concept.

I had SPB_Lady make up a personal business card that had her details when she was job hunting.

Part so she had something to handover at the point of exchange, rather than just 'thanks for your card, I'm unemployed', and part because in Asia, people take those things way too seriously.

edit - sorry, I was just browsing DT a minute ago and forgot I was in a subforum where we're supposed to give real advice. I share Jodum5 and ter1413's reservations. I'd only do it if you always carry a nice pen and have good penmanship.

Not much to it. Basically looks like this
Name made up job title based on what she had been doing in Russia Russia phone, Vietnam phone Email.
Printed on a nice-ish white stock in a nice-ish serif font.
