My first post here so hello to all. I will be travelling out to las vegas for a weekend at the end of February. I will be staying at one of the finer hotels and eating at some higher end restaurants and going out at night to a few clubs where we will have a reserved table. I should note I am early 40's. I was planning on wearing a black slimmer fitting suit sans tie. I know may people are not too fond of the "black suit" but thats what I am working with on this particular night. I was hoping to get some opinions on which style shirt to wear as far as style, pattern and color as to not look like i just got out of work and stand out in a good trendy way. feel free to include a brand shirt if you wish. Thank you kindly in advance for any suggestions and/or opinions. great site !

White shirt or non-shiny gray shirt. Tread carefully if, for example, Italian-looking (no chest hair showing).

OP: " I was hoping to get some opinions on which style shirt to wear as far as style, pattern and color as to not look like i just got out of work and stand out in a good trendy way."

The problem with a black suit and white shirt in this context is that you might look exactly like you just got out of work as a waiter, and merely took off your tie.

For that and all kinds of other reasons please at least consider a very light blue shirt.

OP also: "eating at some higher end restaurants"

Even in Vegas I'd consider a tie in that situation.

The worst things that could happen is they'll think you might be a food critic ...

Of course, this is the Classic Menswear forum. You might get different answers over on the Streetwear and Denim forum, which might be worth a try.

Cheers,

Ac
