It can vary from sale to sale and item to item

Ah that's why. Thanks, thought I was going crazy cuz I remember reading their policy over and over for the specific sale I had trouble with.

I know it's been discussed before but does anybody have a good idea of how hard Tres Bein's custom's fees hit?

I've never been hit by customs fees in the USA. I vaguely remember people saying they had some issues with customs when ordering from Canada but for the most part they are very good about it

regarding tres bien, i never got hit with customs fees because they marked things down, however they sent me a smaller size shoe and i returned it back the same day.

it took about 1 or 2 weeks to get refunded back, and they actually had the audacity to charge me for the return shipping (the shoe was sold out of every size). When I told them i didn't feel like i should pay for their mistake, their answer was simply, sorry, but we ask all our return holders to pay for the postage back, as it is the same as driving back to return product.

**** that. Flabbergasted and appalled me to the point that i will never ever shop with them again, no matter how good their deals are.

This seems to me like a prime reason to do a credit card chargeback. Was it just not worth the bother?

not for $6 / $9 whatever the difference was, but I just didnt want to deal with declaring customs values etc.

at the end of the day, all this international ordering has done to me is driven me back to the brick and mortar shops to pay for the goods i feel is worth dropping money on and be done with it while still feeling good about my purchase and experience.

That's disgusting when the error was on their end. I got kind of pissed off just reading this. I know these stores are trying to make money, but do they not see the value at all of good customer service? International boutiques are aggravating since they don't follow a hard set of customer service standards one can expect from a major retailer.
