Hitting Manhattan for a couple of days at the end of Feb (so I guess missing all sales) and only have half a day or so to shop.
Plan is C21 for any OTR suits, jackets and trousers that I can find, maybe ties, shirts and cufflinks if anything takes my fancy. Then to Self Edge to get a couple of high-end pairs of jeans (I need advice on fit and how to care of raw denim/ selvedge etc).

Questions are;

-Does C21 stock TF, LP, Cucinelli, Kiton, Isaia, Brioni, Zegna etc or any of the real top-end suit/ jacket makers?
-If not, where is the best place, Barneys, NM?
-Is Self Edge (on Orchard St) A good place to go get advice on and buy good jeans? (My brand knowledge stretches to Evisu and Nudie and no further at present)

I live in Switzerland which is crazy expensive for this stuff, although I will be in London a couple of weeks later so am only interested in good deals on really nice stuff, ie, don't want to spend three hours wading through Hugo Boss suits...

Refer to my thread from last month.

I recommend visiting Leffot (great shoes), J. Crew, Gant, Freemans Sporting Club, Steven Alan and Unis.

There are indeed about 10'000 posts on NYC and in my first hour of looking through them, I couldn't find answers to whether C21 still stocks high end European suits, or if Self Edge is a good place for someone wanting to step up his denim, hence this thread, with those specific questions. Thanks for your concern though...

Cheers Ville, will check out your thread. I had read about Leffot, I'll add them to my itinerary

I was in Manhattan about a month ago and hit C21. I believe they did have TF suits awhile back but not when I was there. Always possible they have gotten more. They had some very nice TF ties for $80. I almost missed them as they were on a tie board marked Hugo Boss. Those are some nice looking HB ties, I thought, took a look and voila!
I also scored some nice very fine wale diagonal Mabitex cords at a Daffy's in midtown. The one near Wall Street was cleaned out. Daffy's also had some nice looking shearlings relatively cheap.

C 21 often has some brioni suits, but does not regularly cary other top end stuff. Over the past 2 years or so their selection of truly top end stuff has greatly diminished. There are still a few decent things to be found, but it requires more luck than it used to.

Leffot is a must for shoes.
