That's what I heard from a SA at Holts, that Nordstrom is coming to Vancouver and already has obtained a location/floor space somewhere downtown. Would be a nice addition to the lack of selection here.

Fact or Fiction? Anyone know?

Interesting. I haven't heard this. Nordstrom carries many of the same brands as Harry's and Holts (I'm referring to mens wear only) but I would say is a tier beneath both overall. They certainly wouldn't be adding much to an area where we suffer greatly: men's shoes.

In the mid to late 90's both Eaton's and HBC both carried some higher end men's clothing but I don't think either approach really panned out. Perhaps Nordstrom is looking to fill that gap between an HBC and Harry's / Holts. But at first blush, I just don't know if Vancouver is large enough of a market to support another retailer like this.
