I disagree.

It should be padded all over, like this jacket:

I was about to point out the same thing. I think Moo forgot that the OP is on the shorter side.

WTF. Unless you're Megan Fox, I find that incredibly hard to believe.

FWIW, I have performed countless upright rows and power cleans and a lesser number of shrugs and deadlifts over the years and have pretty well developed traps myself.

And don't you want to show the world the fruit of your years of hard work? I agree that plenty of padding could be added before he starts losing his neck, but I would still want to retain the overwhelming majority of that shoulder line.

Okay, it looks like I'm all set. I will ask Patrick to:

(1) build up the shoulder padding, but not extend the shoulders; and
(2) extend the shoulders, but not build up the shoulder padding.

But seriously, folks, this is helpful. I will ask for a bit more length -- probably 0.5" -- and more open quarters, as illustrated nicely above.

The shoulders may take some more thought. Am I correct to assume that shoulder extension could help remedy the divot issue, or is something else causing that? No pics, but I think the sleeve pitch is pretty good.
