I've been lurking around here for a while and learned a lot. But I've got a few specific questions I'd really appreciate some help with. Firstly, I recently bought what seemed to be a fairly blue navy suit that turned out to be quite close to black in most lights. In fact it can be hard to see the blue in it until you directly compare it with black. I think it's the same one as here (I've heard bad things about hugo boss but I didn't know at the time): http://store-us.hugoboss.com/Regular...ID&prefv1=blue Unfortunately I really wanted a navy suit and now I feel like I've wasted my money. I bought a pair of chestnut Loake 758's in anticipation of a navy suit: http://shop.schuhhaus-kruetzmann.de/...cestnut_01.jpg But since the suit I now have is quite a bit darker, would these shoes still be appropriate, or would I be better off with a pair of black shoes? I'm looking to buy another suit and while I would really like a proper navy one it would just make me feel like I wasted my money on the one I have. Since it's summer I was thinking about a light grey, and while I'm fairly sure those loakes would go fine with a medium grey, would they be too dark for a light grey suit? Should I buy a pair of tan shoes instead?

I would go with black shoes on the dk. navy suit. To me, the chestnut shoes would work well with either med. or lt. gray. You might also tone the dk. navy suit down with a good choice of shirt and tie, to being out the blue.

Hm thanks I suppose I'll grab a pair of black toe caps to go with the dark navy and wear the chestnuts with a light grey. I've tried bringing out the blue in the suit with blue/violet shirts and ties with limited success.

Would it still be worth buying a lighter navy? There will be sales here in Sydney soon and I may be able to pick up two suits. With light grey being the first, what would be good for the second? I was thinking maybe a medium grey, charcoal, or a proper navy.
