At NMLC, the tie selection was pretty dismal, particularly the little rack of Brioni ties, which were all absurdly hideous and still priced around $80. Shoe selection is equally terrible. Other than that, they had about 10 or so Canali ties, and the same amount of Zegna ties, neither in any decent patterns. Didn't bother checking out the suits.

Saks Off Fifth wasn't any better. WORSE shoe selection. There was a little rack of some odd-color striped RLPL shirts and tons of Boss / Abboud / Burberry suits (moslty 3-btns unfortunately), but nothing spectacular.

Saks off fifth is terrible, like shopping at Macys. Almost everything is low end, special purchase garbage. Seems that they almost never get anything decent from the mainline stores.

The ties at NMLC are very bad. Looks like a special purchase of overstock from Brioni, Ricci and Zegna; clearly stuff that buyers would not touch. Hopefully the tie selection will improve as sale items come in from the mainline stores. They have a few nice sportcoats, but the suits are almost all special buys (very unimpressive).

They have received some nice sweaters and polo type casual shirts from the mainline stores. Also noticed a few nice dress shirts (hidden among lots of Ike Behar type garbage).

I don't look for many nice shoes to make it to the last call store. My experience at the mainline stores is that the nice shoes sell very quickly when they hit the sale racks.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but NMLC at Milpitas is a waste of time.

No experience with the NMLC in question, but I think with any of these outlet establishments it's sometimes chickens, sometimes feathers--mostly feathers, but the trick is to check them out regularly. I work very close to a Saks Off-Fifth, and I check out the inventory every time they have a 25% or 30% off sale for their cardholders, which is much of the time. Much of the time there's not much of interest, but I have probably tripled my necktie wardrobe from there--mostly Canali and Brioni with some Charvets and Zegnas. I have bought a bunch of shirts for my boy and two suits--one of them an exquisite Hickey-Freeman--at very low prices for the lad.

Yep... I was actually just there today and snagged several Turnbull & Asser and Charvet ties for $33 each. The public seems to not know these brands so they tend to sit for a while and keep getting discounted. A month ago I got a few 7-fold Isaias for $40 each. So it's not always a waste to check out during their sales.

I've been to both Last Call and Off 5th at Milpitas, and they are both fine. That's where I would go if I wanted to buy a suit, shirt or tie in person. They usually have TA shirts, Brioni ties, freeman suits and what have you. I have seen Sutor shoes there occasionally, only about half off. But there are certainly no other options for half off sutor around here.

Oh by the way I always confuse off 5th and last call, I dont remember which was which.
