I have a pair of Cheaney Newmans coming on the mail...how do you like them? Thanks

Excellent value and I hope each newer shoe fits better and better

This is one of the hidden jems of SF...decent value, especially for those of us who can't afford English bespoke shoe prices

The Newman's are great. Don't wear them much cause i have a lot of shoes.
I got mine from Plal as a marked-down special.

That is a certain sharpness about the 11525 last that is nice.
Many of Cheaney's Signature series use the 11525.

Yup! There the same shoes. Lotsa polishing involved.
My staff thinks I'm nuts & possibly gay

On side note, I discovered that using toppy inserts are a water magnet with Blake stiched shoes.
Stick to full toppies if you're in wet locations.

Is there any way I could contact them and possibly submit an order? I can trace my foot and provide measurements if that is what is needed (or I guess I could even submit a shoe that fits like jantzen does with shirts).
Googling has found my very little info (partially due to the fact that don't speal the language) but unless there are less distant options, this sounds like a pretty cool experiment (especially seeing binatang's finishing job).

Sorry I'm resurrecting another old thread to add sth: Are you sure these guys make the custom orders for the shop across the street? If so, you can save a lot of money by commissioning the work directly from them instead of from the shop. When I was there about two months ago the lady in the shop quoted me a price of 1,200,000 VNd for a pair whereas the guys on the street (same ones as in your picture) said 500,000 VNd for a pair.

The result I got from them is a different story; the shape will need a little tweaking next time I give them a try. Just wanted to let everyone know about this - why pay the shop a whopping commission if you can deal directly with the man who makes them? Obviously you don't get a receipt for your down payment from him though...

This has been asked, but is there any way to measure yourself and order over the Internet? How do you communicate styles? Do any Vietnamese shoemakers use Goodyear welting?

I'll definitely have to check this out next time I go to VN.

I bet some of you guys would be interested in a proxy. I have a lot of family there and some would probably be interested in doing some kind of proxy service via email for a small fee of say 50 dollars (plus price of shoes + shipping). Would you try those shoes at that price? I don't want it to be a hassle for them though so it would have to be no returns. I'm not sure how detailed the process is but if it's just a simple as showing them pictures of the shoe from lots of different angles and your foot measurements then I'm sure they could do it.

Like I said, I'll have to check out the whole process before determining if this is possible or not.
