I find the 89 last (for RLPL) runs long vs. the conventional EG lasts. Does anyone share in that experience? If so, do you take a half size down with the 89?

Also, does the new 82 last run narrow vs. the 606 or 202? If one is a 8/8.5D with the 606, what size would one take with the 82 last?

thank you.

89 does indeed run larger than most other current EG lasts. I don't size down a half a size, but I probably could.

I take the same size in 82 as I do in 202 and 606, but it is a bit narrower. 82 is derived from 888, so I would get whatever size works well for you in that last.

I have EG shoes on order from RL and went down 1/2 size on the 89 last. The try-on pair was snug, but not uncomfortable. I'm not sure my feet are really US size 12D, though, they're more like 11.75D (i.e. my sizing varies according to manufacturer and last, but is US 12D in the large majority of cases).

How exactly does the 89 last's fit compare to the 888 last?

I have previously posted this image on SF. The picture on the right shows an EG in the 82 last. The silhouette around it drawn with the dotted line shows the same shoe on the 202 last to show how the two differ. They show a picture from the side as well. The 82 last is slimmer and sleeker all round.

Hope this helps.
