Mixing My Linen Shirt with Jeans and Khakis

Hi, I live in a tropical country and just recently discovered how breathable and cool linen shirts are. So now I’m rebuilding my wardrobe with linen fabric as the majority and planning to get just one white cotton shirt for black tie events. Anyway here are pictures of the combination. I’ve got mixed results from traditional people and people who do not mind experimenting with things.

P.S. I forgot to change into a leather belt which I think will suit the overall look better.

Thoughts on this anyone? Aside from the belt, is there anything else that’s off?

Most people on this side of the forum are into classic men's style, which this outfit does not fall into.

Linen is a great choice, but that particular shirt ends up looking like a shell jacket due to its pattern and colours. I'd go with a more conservative linen shirt colour like white, light blue, or light pink. If you want patterns, something like a stripe would be great. If you want bolder patterns, opt for a more uniform pattern with less contrasting colours.

I also think linen shirts look a bit nicer with chinos, since they feel a bit more lightweight together.
