It is time to retire my birkenstocks. Can anybody suggest a brand and model of sandals that they have been happy with. I have looked at reef and olukai.

Keen Antigua. I get tons of comments when I wear these about how "unique" they are. They are also comfortable, moderately light, and have good traction.

Zappos has them for $60, but they can be found on sale for about $30.

No offense here, but I really wouldn't have thought so. They look quite ordinary, although nice.

I was quite surprised myself. I got them on a whim, despite their being very overpriced. My sister made fun of me for spending so much on sandals, but I swear people love them. Mine are more of a caramel color than those.

Do you really find sandals in any way attractive or sartorially interesting?
i do like flip-flop with a linen suit but in the right circumstance,the right location and at the right time...
There is at the moment a return of the sandal and i will be interested in which circumstances,except very casual situations,do you wear them?

Are you trolling North America monasteries or convents?
Sandals are at best awful...
