Received the new dark brown double monk Elton last. Really impressed with Meermin as these are my first pair. They were a bit narrow though.

Having both a pair of Cheaney boots and Meermin shoes (classic range), the Cheaney's are noticeably better made and generally nicer all round. However, the Cheaney's are also considerably more expensive, so this is kind of expected. My Meermin's are still holding strong after two years, and I do love their look and shape! They're a mighty fine shoe (if not a bit small for me). But given the choice, of the same shoes but one made by Cheaney and one made by Meermin, I would choose Cheaney.

In the past two years I was always wearing Allen Edmonds' , all the AE dress shoes are same last(strand, fifth avenue and park avenue) and same size 10EEE. The 10EEE size is a little wider than I really need, and just fine for the height.
So is there anybody can tell me which last and which size I shall choose in the Meermin shoes....?
I really like the double monk with the Hiro last, but all the people around are trying to convince me it's much too narrow for my feet......

I'm interested in buying a model in the hiro last...
Is the hiro last very pointy? I would like to avoid a very pointy shoe. From the pictures online doesn't look like it is that pointy, but I have never seen a pair of meermin in person.
Thank you.

Does anyone have a meermin belt? Are the lengths given on the website (e.g 32"/80cm) absolute lengths or just the waist size a given belt is designed for?

Also, is it generally advisable to size up (that is, order a 34 belt for a 32 waist)?

the belts are true to size. measure your waist and then order that size. I usually wear a size 32 in jeans, and i ordered a 34 belt from meermin (because my waist is actually 34 inches) hope this helps

More size help please:

I'm looking at the current MTO brown grain boot on the Rui last. I have a very narrow foot.

Brannock measured size is 11B, right foot just a bit shorter.

In AE 5-65 lasted shoes, ie Park Avenue, I usually wear a 10.5B or C.

I can't decide whether to go for a 9.5 or even a 9 in the MTO boot - any advice? Cheers

Lachyzee,

That boot is simply not going to work for you. Just too wide, Meermin MTO is like the bus, just wait and another one will be along soon
