I really thought that said Marcoliani sucks.. how's that for a first post from a former lurker.

I don't get how a company that specialises in socks does not offer multiple sizes. I have relatively small feet and have made the experience that many brands follow this one-size-fits-all approach or, if they offer multiple sizes, only do so for the most bland colours/patterns.

I have sent an e-mail to Paolo Gatti, the director of Marcoliani, with that question. I will let you know what the reply is.

I bought a few pairs of dress socks from the Kabbaz site and they're great. My foot size is in the sweet spot, so that probably helps, but I like the quality quite a bit too.

I asked him about it last week and he said, as expected, that one size fits most is what retailers want.

His U.S. success does not surprise - they are great patterns and U.S. retailers generally prefer profits to fit - but I thought Europeans still demanded sized socks. And not just SML either but 40, 42, 44 etc.

Europeans do! Falke, Gallo, Pantherella are all size specific. I wear 41-42 and generally won't buy "one size fits all" dress socks anymore, only for sport socks.

+1, though Pantherella has many styles that only come in M, L, XL (S is often not available/produced?). Bresciani are also sized. For plain socks, I prefer Falke Milano, they hold up nicely.

Marcoliani has a very good collection. They are focus on US market, so they go one size because the retailers in US ask for this kind of production (less inventory and warehouse problems).
actually the real size mirror for socks is going (talking about men's) from size 9 (which means 9 inches from the heel to the toe) to 14, going half by half (9 - 91/2 - 10 - 10 1/2 - 11 - 11 1/2...).
Of course socks 100% cotton can't be one size. To have real one size (or something similar) you need to have nylon or spandex in the construction of the sock, otherwise forget about.

Hi, I am a newcomer to style forum, but am relatively knowledgeable. Marcoliani does offer sized socks although they are made on the large side. Hope that helps.

I prefer Bresciani to both, but Marcoliani socks are still great. Pantherella are very nice, but not what they used to be.
