This is why we love Marc Jacobs. Originally purchased from the Mercer Street store a few winter season ago, this is an exceptional twill tweed topcoat from his mainline men's collection. The color combination is rich in navy blue/ charcoal grey tweed trimmed with chocolate brown (natural color) beaver shearling that could not be softer.
Originally sold for $2,200 full-price, it was the last piece available at the time, so I purchased it oversized. I did wear it on a few occasions layered up underneath. The size 52 runs true to size and would suit a size L or XL or 42 American jacket very well. This piece could be tailored down, if you are closer to size 48.
I relocated months ago to return to school and I no longer have a need for such a beautiful long coat. I used to work for a Fashion Editor so it was important to dress well. This piece remains in pristine, like-new condition, like a sample from the showroom. It is very sharp and perfectly clean. The chest pocket is still sewn shut. You do not come across such a beautiful style very often, especially with such a luxurious finish. This was when the Marc Jacobs men collection was much better than present day collections. This is a lifetime, classic design in signature MJ style.
