They're straps not laces. Only a slip on would be easier to get on and off

Is it me or does the straps seem little flimsy???

does anyone have an experience where the strap cracked or worst detatched after few years???

I recognise this is an old thread and by now no-one cares. However, I will persist:
Straps flimsy? JL straps are the only straps I have encountered that are not flimsy. Each time I buckle my Williams I am left with a sense of security. That can not be said for any of the other monks I own/have owned - be it, EG or Cleverley and a lowly pair of Cheaney (disposed of).

Rest assured, JL are the finest and most robust straps, I'd say, on the market.
