I just got a new Harness leather belt from LGC. The coloring is great, but when I put it on the first time, it created some wrinkles in the skin of the leather. Is this normal? Should I put some leather conditioner on it to smoothen it out?

I don't know what the problem is nor how it might be fixed but that is strange, and disturbing; I was on the verge of ordering 2 belts from LGC and this gives me pause.

A bad sign.

I hope others more knowledgeable can post a reply.

Keep us updated. I'm also thinking about buying a belt from them.

Does this have anything to do with full grain vs. corrected grain? Is it a factor of the dying process?

I am not an expert in leather so take this with a grain of salt. But I've seen cheap belts do this, and I've seen nice full grain good quality belts do this. About the only ones that don't, seem to be nice calf skin formal dress belts of high quality. The cheap ones where there's just a thin layer of leather bonded to a glued particle type under layer, it creases, but they are smaller and more pronounced and look awful. On nice thick full grain belts these show up as soft "waves" in the leather where its bending and in my opinion, look just fine.

Yours looks fine.

i'm also interested in what causes this. This happened both to my LGC and tumi belt.

Larry says: "I use Aussie leather conditioner, made by Fiebings, on my belts regularly. Harness belts will naturally show these wrinkles, but your natural oils from handling, and occasional conditioning, will return years of service. Let me know how it goes."

I'll put a little leather conditioner on it and hopefully it'll work out.

Quite normal. This happens only with real leather belts. SO you can be sure they are made of leather. Unfortunately though, not much to do.
