Kiton, 4-fold (I think), self-tipped. Worth it on sale for $100?

Hell no. Would you even look at that tie in a store if it wasn't made by Kiton? Quality of construction doesn't matter when it looks like the bastard child of a Regis tie and Etro...

PHV is being a lot more blunt than I am, but he has the same opinion I do. It's not hideous, but the color/design is kind of "blah," and there's no life to it, and I certainly don't see anything that would compel me to pay $100, regardless of construction. I hope this is a prospective purchase and not an already-made one, so I don't have to feel bad saying that.

I hate to pile on, but I don't like it either...

It's not terrible if it's about your 40th tie in your collection. But for $100, it should be in your top 10.

Well I didn't come here to get coddled.

Anyhow this was the only decent tie left in the sale, just wanted a second (or seventh) opinion.

Nice way of expressing it, tdial. Luc, don't fear the paisley. Â

Ugly. There is a nice brown one with pink leaves on Ebay right now, however. Similar look, only much better colors and design IMO. I think its a BIN for $70.

I've never found a grey print tie that looks anything but dull, FWIW.

I would not wear it with a grey suit and white shirt.
It is a classic understated tie, perfect compliment to either a patterned suit and/or heavily colored/patterned shirt.

I would not pay $100 for it, I have a few 7 fold Kiton ties, not that impressed by them. For $50 I would probably think twice.

Damn ugly. If it didn't have the Kiton tag, I'd say it was an el cheapo from the 1950s. But then 98% of kiton ties are ugly.

i think its just ok - would look ok with a shirt with a gray check through it, but i wouldnt spend $100 on it and i wouldnt look twice at it on a rack

if you want kiton for kiton's sake nothing will stop you. if you want seven fold for seven fold's sake, then im sure Chuck already has you in his sights.
