Kenzo suit or Sartoria Castangia

Guys, just got a navy Kenzo suit from Yoox in a 38. It's a little too small though. I can get another Kenzo in a black 40 which would fit great, or a 38 Castangia in a stripe charcoal. Both are the same price and seemingly same cut. This will be my primary suit, though I will only wear it a few times a month.

What would be the better buy in your opinion? I usually take a 38 but Kenzo seems to run a size small. Do Castangia fit true to size or should I size up in it too?

Appreciate you thoughts.

If you are asking about quality/construction, there is no comparison with the Kenzo being essentially a department store suit and the Castagnia being as good as you can get off the rack. Go with what you like and what suits your purpose but if you are simply looking to buy the best if the two, Castagnia is in a very different league from the Kenzo.

Thanks Ed, good advice. Any insights into Castangia's sizing? Do they run small or true to size?
Cheers

Pretty much TTS. I think you'll be OK with the 38. Keep in mind, however, that the aesthetic is significantly different. The Kenzo suit is a fashion piece, the Castangia is less fashion forward and more appropriate for business. The charcoal PS is more versatile than a solid black, though.

Wow... interesting comparison. I've never quite heard one weigh buying Kenzo (a fashion forward French brand originally from Japan, part of the LVMH group), or Castangia (one of the most famous traditional sartorial brands).

Basically, as others have said, you have to go with your own personal style here, as they really are on opposite sides of the fashion spectrum. Kenzo quality isn't bad, but it isn't intending to be a suit-maker (as is castangia) and so the Castangia will blow it out of the water on the little details. So, if you are looking for a fun suit to wear sometimes, Kenzo would be that. Castangia, on the other hand, would be great for work or for more "serious" fare.

thanks for all the info guys, think I will go for the Castangia. It's a work oriented purchase more than anything else. Will post pics when it arrives. Cheers
