Depends on your look I suppose. Since I'm Chinese with shortish black hair, I think I look more like a G-Man or Triad gangster. If I was black, had cool hair, etc. then maybe I would look more like a jazz musician.

The Rat Pack also rocked the skinny tie and black-and-white suit ensemble; it was really quite popular.

one a fairly recent trip to dallas, i encountered jessica simpson lying out by the pool in our hotel.  i saw NOTHING masculine about her that day
I could take her masculinity with no problem at all.

Maybe I'm way off here, but when I think of skinny ties and black suits I think of the jazz musicians of the 50's and 60's...who are some of the coolest guys and best dressers of all time (at least in my opinion).
+1

some guys are gonna come off like square G-men, others will come off as cool-as-f@ck 40s/50s hepcats...depends on the vibe you carry that clothes cant hide

Jessica Simpson has a masculine face. Certainly no Britney.
Dude, Britney's morphed into some scary trashy creature... I wouldn't go near her now that she's been Federlined. There should be a countdown to her appearance on True Hollywood Story as an embittered and broke hack.

I don't skinny ties myself...too hipsterish for me.

As for Jessica Simpson...not my top choice by any stretch but I'd...well...you know.

Miles Davis & Co. bought these types of ties from the Andover SHop in the 50's. Daniele, over on AAAC, has posted the covers of many a hip jazz LP, EP, &c.
