I like the move tho. OLD JE was like Saint Laurent. New JE is like Carhartt. It takes that inspiration, and manufactures it through its own lens

The Shasta and Smarties University. They really nailed it with this iteration. The marble base and carnival on the Shasta fills in the negative space. It’s much more flush and the pattern of each carnival dye may be less relevant. Hit or miss speaking. The carnival dye on the Shasta has definitely received more attention. Much improved. I wouldn’t have known the smarties was carnival unless noted. Much more subdued. The “oil” vibe doesn’t exist. The color pops. My camera and lighting really doesn’t do it justice. They both feel a bit small...similar to the balboa ink bloom compared to the mainline university. Nothing to worry about with sizing up or down though.
