XS. I take a 30 in cast 2 and small in all other JE bottoms/shorts.
It’s important to refer to height as well; I’m 5’11”. I’m a 30 in cast 2 but if I wear a small in the sweats it’s like midway up my shin.

this is where it gets confusing...because I can wear an L in the ebisus but potentially an XS in the cargos. Lol.

I know it’s obvious, but it sucks that we spend all this money sometimes for it to not be ideal.

I guess the herringbone cargos do run big... I did everything I could to try to make it fit. Wore cord shorts underneath and folded the waistband once. But can’t be doing that all the time so will be returning them. If anyone has an XS and if anyone wants this size small, hit me up!

This is a size small and I’m usually 31 in cast 2

Maybe it's my aesthetic, but all the pics of cargos I've seen posted so far seem to look fine to me. I can relate to the drastic difference in how they feel when being used to really tight jeans though. Have you all tried squatting or bending on one knee and taken that into account? Without stretch, the room is necessary IMO. I might be preaching my concerns for the value of wearing clothes that don't limit your range of motion.
I'm about 5'10" at 170 ish and wear a (very tight) 31 Cast 2 carbon, and have 2 pair of the OG cargos in L, ordered herringbone in each color and another olive in the OG, but I admit I'm going for that more comfortable approach, reminiscent of when I could cop Wtaps BDU's.

It's not the relaxed fit around the legs, it's the waist being literally too large to even pull tight with the drawstrings. If I pull the drawstrings as tight as I can, fold the waistband over on itself to make a crimp, then it sort of stays up as long as I don't move too much.
