I've got this strange problem with the back of my suit jacket

When I put the jacket on, the back of the jacket doesn't cover the back of the collar (Ron Paul style but not quite that bad). However, when I took it to a tailor, he just grabbed the jacket and, as best I can describe it, just situated it on me differently and then it fit fine for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, I have been unable to replicate what he did at home by myself. I don't have to do that with any of my other suits to get them to fit fine around the neck. What is the problem here?

Eh? You mean in height or the dreaded 'collar gap'? Any fit questions really need pics for illustration...

No no, not a gap it just doesn't sit ON the collar rather, it sits directly on the shirt but below the collar. And as I said, the problem disappears entirely if I put it on a certain way.

Is it possible your tailor is also a chiropractor?

Since the tailor helped you with this he would be the best source to explain why lifting the jacket worked. When you put on a jacket, it helps to lift the jacket by the lapel or collar right about where the gorge is and lift up and pull forward to bring the jacket up on the neck and then let it settle down on the shoulder. That's the way to do it.

Difficult to understand your problem without a photograph though Despos' suggestion does as usual make much sense: Having thought about how I put a coat on I recognise his suggestion.

This seems to be a description of what he did. I would ask him to clarify except he doesn't really speak English all that well and I don't really speak Korean all that well at all.

I am curious, however, why this would be necessary with one suit jacket and not my other suit jackets.

Different jackets have different cuts and can fit you differently. Also, you shouldn't be using a tailor that you can't communicate with.
