Is 9/10 oz too heavy as shirting?

I am debating if some 9/10 oz Irish linen should be made up as shirts or trousers. Any suggestions?

Oh, if they are to be shirts, what details would you suggest to complement linen? Maybe no collar band, French front? BD with placket? Shirred back and cuffs?

I have some safari shirt jackets made up in 11/12 oz Irish linen already.

Should I just stick to the original plan and make up the 9/10 oz into pants?

is this a shirt? or a overshirt?

heavy for a shirt to be tucked in with trousers.
