Let me kick this one off with some from one of my favourite films (which I completely forgot about).

A lot of PC DVD players have a screencap button/option.

Otherwise, in WMP, hit Print Screen and then paste into a paint program. If it saves as a black screen, as it probably will, go to Tools ---> Options ---> Performance tab ---> Advanced ---> and uncheck "Use Overlays". THEN hit Print Screen and paste into a paint program. (NB This works for video files, but might not work for DVDs, which I understand WMP plays on the overlay layer.)

you can download virtual dub, open the file, then hit print screen to take a screencap


EDIT: you F***ers are going to be sorry for starting this thread once I find my Pink Flamingos DVD
