I need the lowdown on (women's) silk scarves

I know this is a men's style forum, but most of you have better taste than the women I know, therefore you get to answer the question.

I want to buy a silk scarf for my significant other. I really like the design and colors of the Hermes silk scarves but hate the price and the fact that I'm paying for the name more than the quality of the material or design. So I'm wondering if anyone knows of similar scarves that are made of quality silk but might not set me back $400.

Thanks in advance.

Ferragamo is a close one, but as far as quality, there is no compare to Hermes IMO. Patterns, colors, etc. eBay is a great option, you can get a semi used one for under $175 most days. Like you will find in my auctions in a few weeks. Got 9 of them coming

Well you might be paying for the name to some degree with Hermes but you are getting unsurpassed quality from the most desirable and collectible scarf maker.

I would check out Emilio Pucci...if you do not want to pay for Hermes.

Hermes. I buy my wife one or two a year. She has a really nice collection at this point.

I could swear I saw a couple of RL scarves for women on B&S recently.

Pray tell when said auction will take place. Thanks in advance, my man.

The best silk scarves I've ever seen were in Uzbekistan. The same people turn the silk thread into fabric, then cut and hand paint/dye it. In dollars I think it would be about 75-80 but this was 2 years ago. Of course, unless you go there this does not help you much. Hope that helps.

I saw some terrific scarves in Naples, at Cappelli, Rubinacci and Marinella.

Most likely one week from tonight. Put up some Versace scarves tonight to keep you busy in the meanwhile

I think you are speaking of Ikat.. which is a fascinating, unique and beautiful process.
