I shine my shoes regularly. Saturday group shoe shining is one weekend activity I really enjoy. Now ironing, thats a pain, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Be a man and all that.

Polishing leather shoes is the best bit !!! They come out gleaming, and develop a look which you just can't get without it. I've picked up quite few great pairs of shoes from non-polishers who had *never* cleaned them, and then discarded them because they no longer looked so good... Whereas a mere 30minutes work...

The smell of Saphir makes the job much more pleasant, though I think Kiwi does a better job at hiding scuffs.

I don't know why anyone would find shining shoes such a chore...at least if you keep up with it. I inspect the pair I have worn that day for signs of scuffing. If there are, I polish them. Takes only a few minutes--no big deal.

Ironically, I am wearing suedes as I tap this out.
