I do not know how much of bumps you are looking for.

On the description it says leather, but I doubt that gilt would mean "not cordovan" but calf leather.

Whether it is calf or cordovan, laymens do not care:

It should probably be in category of just "leather" for them.

These are not shells. When you pressed the shoes it shows the creasing pattern.

Thanks a bunch.

I guess that I have to decide whether I should return this or not.

I actually like the style of the shoes... Do you think that it worths the money to spend $440 on these?

I like the colour of this pair. Looks like nice finish as well. But for this price you could definitely do better. But if you like them then you can keep them.

Thanks. I agree that this shoes does not fully worth $440. However, I cannot think of any particular shoe brand that I can get with this price.

Maybe CJ (through pediwear... most oxfords are in 280 pound range... that is actually about the same considering current exchange rate),

and for sure, AE or loake or bellow... I recently got some Franceschettis, CJ boots, and Jimmy Choo loafers from barney's sale with around $300 per pair prices.

But I cannot think of any similar deals now. Maybe I should return and wait for new deals...?

All right, I am not a native English speaker, but since when is "cordovan" a colour?

For $440 I can't imagine what wouldn't be better than these. They look like they're corrected grain calf. If you really like this style you could get a pair of Aldens that will at least be full grain. C&J, Sargent, and Grenson can be had for this price (or even less if you're patient) and will be considerably better.
