HSM sportscoats

Belk (a dept store) had some HSM sports coats on clearence for about $160 each. I got two of them. Did I get a good buy considering I got HSM?

More critically, the jackets are striped, but not overly loud. Can I wear houndstooth dress pants or striped/patterned dress pants with a patterned blazer, or is that too much? Can a striped shirt with plain pants be worn together?

I picked up a HSM Gold Trumper made in the US navy blazer last fall for <$200 and I though it was a good deal. HSM's Gold Trumper line is nicely constructed with decent fabric. Some of their entry level suits and sport coats are just OK. If it fits and you like it, it's a good deal.

The trousers you mentioned sound too busy to match with a patterned sport coat. One can be patterned, the other solid. Striped shirts may work, but it depends upon the scale of the two patterns. They should be different enough not to clash. I like micro striped shirts with patterned sport coats.
