Just saw this. It's also a Zegna label.
1. Typically there's a "Base" part with a letter. This identifies the overall shape of the jacket for differing body-styles. There are guides online for these. Basically how wide/narrow shoulders are, size of the lapel, double or single-vented, waist suppression.
2. There's a fabric code with a letter after it. The further the letter is down the alphabet, the more expensive it is. A wool in A levels is supposed to be lower quality/luxury than E levels. Yet, any of his fabrics will be nice.
3. European sizing with jacket length. Ford's jackets are longer than most, so a regular length may be closer to his short (sometimes denoted with a 'c' instead of an 's'.). A size 50 correlates to a 40 US and 'should' be a 40" chest, but that's rarely true, so go by measurements.
4. Under the fabric code area, the label will say "Jacket" or "Suit" or "Three Piece Suit", informing you of the purpose. Handy if someone is trying to sell a sports jacket that's actually an orphaned jacket from a suit.

Is it second hand and, if so, are you happy that it is genuine?
