Anyone else here from Houston?
I was there a little while ago and it seemed like an endless sprawl of strip malls, corporate office parks, and gas stations. I've heard good things about the city, though. Where's all the good stuff?
I've only been here 20 years and I've not found it either.
I live in River Oaks. As far as what is there to do? drink, eat, and shop.
There is a new amusement park opening up north houston soon.
^ Check this site out:
The new park is going to be called EarthQuest Adventures. Its supposed to be an eco friendly themed amusement park. Looks intersting

My uncle and his family lives in the Woodlands. They seem happy enough. I've worked down in Houston a few times and there is way too many strip malls for my taste, but would maybe be a decent place to live if you could stand driving 30 minutes for anything.
