Apparently lots of SF memebers like to walk up and down hills, so I created this thread to share tips on gear/fitness/whatever for people who like to schlep.

Me, too. Someone was asking about hiking boots. I have tried many, and am very happy with my few pairs of Salewas.

Zamberlans work well in ski or snow terrain? Anybody?

FYI there is a backpacking thread in general chat. I am a gear junkie and could talk for hours about boots, packs, and all things hiking.

Currently using Lowa Tibet GTX for hikes. Heavy, but my feet and body seem to respond better to a stiff, supportive boot. Recently invested in custom orthotics after trying super feet and several other insoles. So far so good, but have not hiked with them yet.
