HELP with LL Bean Shirts

Hi guys, So I have decided to buy 4 to 5 nice, daily-wear shirts (not formal) and it looks like LL Bean has a nice, wrinkle-resistant collection that can be seen here. Unfortunately since I can't see them in person, I'm confused; what's the difference between an "Oxford" shirt vs "sport shirt" vs flannel vs casual, and what would you recommend for a stylish, attractive look? The shirt would be worn with a t-shirt underneath, with the first two or three buttons undone, sometimes under a zip up when it's cold. Also, would you have any alternative recommendations for affordable clothing online? Thanks!

Fabric. Oxford, pinpoint oxford, flannel, chambray and twill are all different types of fabric. Pinpoint oxfords will be the most formal, flannels and stuff like seersucker the least casual. Flannel will be warm, seersucker will keep you cool.

For what you're wearing 'em for (which is a stupid look IMO, but I won't try to talk you out of it), you should get flannel shirts for winter and some lighter weight patterned stuff for summer.

LL Bean shirts will not look like the one pictured. You need to buy ones that fit slimmer. There are lots of threads in Streetwear & Denim about slim, flannel shirts. Go and read them.

Unfortunately, these shirts will cost significantly more than Bean shirts. But what do you expect?This is a fashion forum.

Also, notice how cheap the collar looks on the above shirt. You should try to avoid that. Flannel collars should be soft and natural looking, not stiff and cardboardy.

Could I get away with buying only dress shirts? I find that they always look good and fit so well, since they're fitted.

For nice classic shirts that won't break the bank, check out L.L. Bean Signature. It targets a younger demographic with slimmer fitting shirts. The quality is pretty good.
