Do navy, charcoal, or khaki pants go with a chocolate brown button down shirt?

(Yes, I have used the search function)

Chocolate Brown Shirt???
I want to be helpful, but I don't think anything will go with a chocolate brown shirt. Do you own any other shirts?

Edit- If you don't own any other shirts, khaki will be your best bet. GL

Chocolate brown is THE most hideous colour in men's clothing.

Hm.. I would suggest jeans but even that would be somewhat amiss.

I nearly bought one of those and then realized it's impossible to match. Funny, becuase brown shoes go with everything.

I'd say stick to cream/beige pants or a tan suit (linen?) or something.

Agree with above.
White cords may also work, but it would be best to post a photo of your brown shirt so we can see.

There is just no way you can dress up a brown shirt, but it might work as a casual shirt.
Is it a casual military like shirt like this:

one of the most inaccurate and plain ol' ignorant statements ever.

OP: you could pair chocolate brown with any shade of grey, khaki/tan, and of course navy. It can be a great look if you have the right elements. Don't listen to the haters.....

I wore this last week. Not sure if it's a good look or not, but I enjoyed it.

Black trousers and jackboots seem to do the trick. Perhaps add some sprezzatura with red.

Looks great without the jacket...not so much with it, IMO

I completely disagree. There is a way to dress up a brown DRESS SHIRT. Brown is flattering on most skin types except for one who has brown skin of the similar shade shirt.

Chocolate brown shirt could look very rich if pulled off the right way. Stick with other neutrals to accompany it.

If you're going for a casual look, a brown suede shoe, khaki flat front, brown shirt open collar.

If you're trying to dress it up, for let's say a restaurant date, navy suit, brown open collard dress shirt, and dark brown shoes, dark brown belt. This type of outfit would look put together.

I really believe someone who understand color concepts and is educated would understand there is a way to work with every color to make it beautiful.

Just because you don't see a way to dress up a brown shirt doesn't be the possibility doesn't exist.

If you could "dress up" a tailored jean I am 100% sure a brown dress shirt can be "dressed up"

I would say finda pair of dark charcoal trousers with a very warm tone. If not wearing a jacket, I actually like black with a chocolate shirt/shoes, but understand I am in the minority on this one.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
