Hello,

I have a medium gray suit which I plan to wear with a blue shirt, specifically this color: http://www.brooksbrothers.com/IWCatP...lt_color=Blue#

The problem is that when I bought the shirt I didn't have a good memory of the suit color and the blue shirt I ended up getting is not as light colored as one often sees worn with gray suits. So, now I need an appropriate tie to tie it all together.

Please help me out by suggesting an appropriate tie color. Also, what color shoes would work best?

Thanks so much!

To be honest, pretty much any colour would work. Reds, burgundies, greens, blues, yellows, pinks, oranges...

You've chosen pretty conservative colours that will work well with anything. It's really up to the occasion and your sense of style.

Something in any of these colors should do it.

rather an inane question. Most colour ties would be fine and you could wear black or brown shoes depending upon the occasion.

Develop your confidence and style or look about you to see what others do if that is too much to ask.

+1. My navy ties get much more use than any of my others because they almost always work. Make sure the blue of the tie is dark enough to contrast with the shirt. You don't want the Regis look of 1999.

You can pretty much wer whatever color you want with the tie. Just be sure that the dominant/base color of the tie is darker than the blue shirt.

i like my ties darker than my shirt, but thats also why i would never wear a shirt as dark as yours. then again, a lot of it has to do with your own pigmentation; skin, hair, eyes, etc. i would go with a dark blue with patterns, since you have enough solids with your shirt and suit going on.
