It’s a couple seasons into Hedi Slimane’s tenure at Saint Lauren, and the verdict is still out, although people seem a fan (as always) of his slim cut raw denim. But what about the leather jackets, the torn jeans, and the narrow chelsea boots? A welcome adaptation, or simply refashioned thrift store finds?

If expensive shoes are a mountain, then exotic leathers are probably the icy peak that claims two-thirds of climbers that attempt to scale it – exotics are easy to do poorly, and almost impossible to capture well. But when you do, goddamn.
