Care to share what it is that you do Coho.

I can't say I disagree with this. Also, one of the weirdest feelings of being twenty something is attending your best friends' weddings. I love kids...but the thought of having to support the human incubator whence they originate can be depressing.

Oh, this reminds me of a quote for the quote thread:

-The most profound sentence ever written, Temple said with enthusiasm, is the sentence at the end of the zoology. Reproduction is the beginning of death.

My goal was to run my own design studio by the time I'm 35. 11 years still left and things aren't looking too hopeful (hell, I'm not even working in design!) but I'm not giving up yet.

Hard to discuss this without sounding completely cliche. I'm not going to trot out the John Lennon quote, but I've found life much better when I enjoy it as it comes, rather than getting caught up in arbitrary timetables and planned acquisitions. My greatest fear has always been that I'd look back when it was too late and realize what I'd missed. So far, I'd like to think I've done pretty well living life on my own terms.

Working's fine for killing time, but it's a shaky way to make a living.

ya, I guess Ive probly acheived more than I wudda thunk. Ive never really been a material goals person, more a chalk-up-experiences. Chalked up plenty for someone of my age, although it may be time to shake things up a bit.

It's ok to be goal driven as long as it doesn't prevent you from taking advantage of opportunities that come your way. This is particularly important if your goal is financial independence.
