Groom help for wedding shoes

So im debating on black or merlot AE Hopkinson oxfords but I really love the Merlot color they have. I'm just not sure if it will go with the suit I'll be wearing. I don't have a picture of the suit only the material because it is being made. It's a black suit with grey pindots. I posted a picture of the material. Here's a picture of the merlot shoes I found online and then the black ones. My tie will be silver, white and black design with a white French cuff shirt. So do you guys think I could pull off the Merlot AE's? Oh and my fiance wants my outfit to be a surprise so I can't ask her lol

I'd pick black shoes, too. Deep reds are fine matches with dark greys (the white dots make at look more charcoal than black to me, but perhaps it's different in person)...but for the solemnity of the ceremony I'd choose black shoes.

Yes as a whole it looks charcoal and I was told it's even lighter than that piece once you are looking at a full suit in that color. Because the grey pindots comes out more.
